Position: Plant Manager - Lean Focus

Company: ERI Electronic Recyclers International

Reports To: Director of Operations 

Compensation: Salary will be comensurate with experience levels.

Company Profile: Electronic Recyclers International® is the largest electronics recycler in North America. ERI specializes in the environmentally safe and socially responsible dismantling of electronic waste.

ERI has the Highest Capacity and Most Technologically Advanced E-Waste Shredding System in the world, thus providing our customers with a maximum economic benefit and maximum commodity return. All material sent to ERI is 100% recycled into 3 main commodities: metals, plastic and glass. No electronics are placed in landfills and nothing is illegally exported to other nations.

Position Description and Responsibilities: ERI is looking for a Lean Plant Manager to assume all site responsibilities for the Indianapolis, IN manufacturing and recycling facility, one of four within the US. This is a highly visible position that is expected to play a pivotal leadership role in achieving World Class site performance through standardized operations and Lean thinking.

The position will require a leader with a strong blend of both strategic and tactical approaches to operational and business objectives, leveraging his/her background and experience to drive results via credibility, influence and servant leadership.

This position will be responsible for manufacturing operations, holding supervision accountable to achieve monthly and annual targets in service, quality, profit, safety, and other key performance targets, while managing labor costs.

This role will lead, drive, and sustain the cultural and technical changes necessary to make the plant a world-class Lean manufacturer.

This role will serve as the leader and catalyst for implementing Lean Enterprise principles, tools, and techniques within the plant and distribution center.

This position will be responsible for the preparation of annual operating budgets, business plans for both the plant and distribution center.

This position will have responsibility for the management of 100+ employees through good practice, employee appraisal systems, management of compensation and benefit programs, communication systems, and performance management techniques

This position will be responsible for maintaining all operations to meet the standards required to maintain our multiple certifications

Excellent interpersonal skills … knowledge, energy and the ability to lead and energize others.

Demonstrated track record of promotion within a minimum of two different organizations / business cultures

Strong ability to quickly assess and develop talent to build team and operational bench strength

Ability to work under pressure of multiple projects and deadlines… sometime with conflicting requirements

Ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage changes in direction and priority

Ability to develop, interpret and apply required policies and procedures

Ability to work/ in a team / matrix environment

Ability to address tactical business shortcomings with strategic solutions

Ability to build buy-in with multiple stakeholders with sometime conflicting priorities

Motivated to take on a career enhancing challenge… high level of energy

Technical Requirements:

BS degree Engineeringor Business / MBA or M.S. Advanced Degree preferred but not essential

15+ years of increasing responsibility in manufacturing leadership roles

Advanced Training in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5s, SMED, and other continuous improvement methodologies

Materials processing experience / background Strong financial acumen - understanding of 4 wall operating costs and P+L measures

Knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Power Point required
